So, I've decided to add a blog component to our Bible stories. I'd like to talk a little bit about the creative process. Let's take a look the story we just completed, Samuel Listens to God.
What I've really tried to emphasize in this story is the juxtaposition between Samuel and Eli. Samuel hears God's voice and obeys him, whereas Eli turns a deaf ear to God's warnings resulting in the destruction of his family.
To illustrate this concept visually, Samuel is shown in bright colors even when it's night. Eli colors are either desaturated, or he is left in darkness.
For example, on page 3, Samuel is carrying a lamp that illuminates his face and much of his body, while most of Eli, especially his face, is cast in shadows.
Thanks for reading, please comment and check out our other stories!
