In page 3 of Samuel Anoints David , we shift the tone of the story. God has told Samuel to leave King Saul alone and to travel to the house of Jesse of Bethlehem. I find it interesting that God didn't just tell Samuel who the new king would be. Instead, He just leads him to a family to scrutinize a group of brothers.
Now that the tone is hopeful, I changed the muted colors to bright and cheerful shades. The field is given a pastel, impressionistic look with grazing sheep. Jesse is poking his head out of the door and is waving to Samuel in the distance. Samuel's face is turned away from the viewer so we don't see his expression yet, but the sun shines brightly on his figure.
